The Everlane "40 Hour Flats" | Edit.

 *This Post contains PR Gifts

It is no secret that Everlane has become one of my favourite brands. Recently I added two new pairs of black flats from their collection to my shoe closet: the "40-Hour-Flat" in leather and in ReKnit. And they are both the most comfortable flats I have ever owned. And of course, I have to share them with you guys. So today I thought I would talk about the difference between the two materials and why I chose to get both.

The shape of the "40-Hour Flat" is a classic pointy shape with a slightly straightened tip. The point is also not too narrow which looks quite understated and also makes the shoe more comfortable. I really don't like overly pointed shoes, à la Balenciaga, as they can look too much very easily.

The leather style is made out of very soft Italian leather, which makes it look so professional and put together. It is not only made from Italian leather but is also manufactured in Italy itself. Did you know that Everlane discloses where every single item is being made and how their pricing comes about? They tell you the detailed rates for the materials, labor, duties and transport. Just scroll down on the individual product pages and you will find all the information. How cool is that?

The leather pair is my go-to for the office and whenever I want to look a bit more professional. The ReKnit, however, is perfect for hot summer days and for more casual looks. Of course, they look so chic either way so you can definitely get away with either pair for professional and casual occasions. The ReKnit pair is made out of a recycled breathable knit upper and an outsole made out of recycled bottles. If you don't love this brand yet you will now.

For me, I got both pairs true to size, but they do recommend sizing up half a size for sizes 8 and up. So maybe that is something to keep in mind when ordering your own pair.

Have you tried any Everlane pieces yet?

We Need To Talk About SPF.

Flatlay of Sunscreen by Avene and La Roche Posay

Flatlay with Sunscreen by Avene and La Roche Posay

Even though summer holidays have probably been cancelled for most of us, some might have still been lucky and were able to enjoy some sunny days at home. As much as I am an advocate for wearing sunscreen all year round (yes, also in winters), I try to up my SPF game every summer.

Sunscreen protects your skin from the harmful UVA and UVB rays. UVA is responsible for giving you a tan but is also the cause of wrinkles and skin ageing. UVB rays are responsible for sunburn and skin cancer. So you really want to protect yourself. Further, sunscreen makes sure that your complexion stays as even as possible, and essential proteins like Keratin are protected when sunscreen is applied. Those proteins make sure that your skin stays smooth and healthy, both in appearance and function.

The Best Sunscreens SPFs by Avene and La Roche Posay

So which sunscreens should you go for?
Of course, there are plenty out there. But especially when it comes to my face SPF I am extremely picky. I always use factor 50 or more. My skin is pretty fair and sensitive so it just needs that heavy protection. Also, I want the sunscreen to be as light and as unnoticeable as possible. I mean who wants a thick white layer on their face? Nobody.

When I work out
The Avene Sun Sensitive Sport Fluid 50+ is what I use when I work out or plan to go for a swim. It is especially waterproof which is a necessity when you work out and sweat more than usual. It also doesn't irritate my sensitive skin.

When I use makeup
Whenever I use makeup after applying SPF I go for La-Roche-Posay Anthelios XL non-perfumed dry touch gel-cream 50+. It has a very light gel texture that has a mattifying effect to it, which makes it feel like a primer. I really love this one and am so glad I found it a few months ago.

For everyday
On a daily basis, when I don't plan on wearing makeup I swear by the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Shaka Fluid 50+. It has a light texture, which sinks into the skin very quickly. It doesn't leave a white cast and feels very hydrating.

What is your favourite sunscreen? I am always looking to try new ones.

The Office Wardrobe Essentials | Everlane.

*This Post contains PR Samples

I have recently moved to a new city and of course, this change also comes with looking for a new job. In preparation, I also wanted to step up my office wardrobe game. As I am trying to shop more sustainably recently, I hopped onto Everlane and checked out their selection. So I thought I would share with you what I got and some other pieces I am lusting after right now.

I have been looking at this dress for ages already. And as much as it would probably is not the best time right now for comfy cashmere pieces, I just had to make sure I have it in my wardrobe when autumn comes around. The fabric is seriously so soft and beautiful. I personally sized up and love the looser look. I can't wait to wear this with my Everlane Boss Boots. YAY!

This black tote is such a staple in my wardrobe already. I can't believe I went so long without anything like this in my collection! But honestly, even if you already own a black tote this one is worth an investment. The leather is soft, yet sturdy. You can really tell that the bag is made with such attention to detail. And, did you know it's made in Italy? I am in love.

I was looking for the most comfortable pair of black pointy flats that there is on the market. And I truly believe I found them. Girls, if you buy just one thing make it this pair of heaven. They are made of their ReKnit material, which is extremely breathable and literally molds to your feet. I never saw anything like them and I am considering getting another pair just as a backup! That's how obsessed I am. I would say they run true to size, but if you are in-between sizes I would go for the smaller one.

What are your office wardrobe essentials?

The Summer Nailpolish Edit.

*This post contains PR Samples.
Summer Flatlay with different Essie Nailpolishes in Nude and black tones
During the last few months, I went through a bit of a 'nail polish detox'. I barely painted my nails and really focused on giving them the right care. However, recently I found myself craving some beautiful neutral nail polish shades. So, of course, I had to go on a little shopping spree and repurchase some of my old faves and discover some new shades to add to my collection.

Today I want to share with you my go-to summer nail polish shades. And before anyone asks, yes: very obviously Essie is my fave brand when it comes to polishes and I almost never pick up a different brand. But please let me know if you have another brand suggestion I should try out in the future!

If I could only wear one nail polish for the rest of my life it would be Essie "topless and barefoot". For me, it really is the most perfect pinky nude. The pigmentation is on point, so I could get away with just one coat if I wanted to. All in all, I can't think of a better nude for me.
Essie Topless and Barefoot Nailpolish

"Lady like" is another shade that I wear quite often, just not as much as "topless and barefoot". It definitely is a darker nude with a bit more of a lavender/lilac undertone to it. Again, I love how opaque the colour is, two coats should be fine with this one.
Essie Lady Like Nailpolish

Essie "ballet slippers" is a less opaque, but just as beautiful nude with a more white-ish undertone than the rest of my collection. I love to use it on my toenails and sometimes on my fingernails. One coat gives you a polished but natural look, as you still can see your natural tips shining through. If you want a more opaque look, you should go for three coats.

I know, Essie "licorice" really stands out next to my nude collection. But what can I say, sometimes I just want to go for a classic and dramatic black. Especially in the summer I just love black nails. For some reason, black polishes don't want to last very well on me. But again, Essie really solved that problem for me and this polish lasts 4 to 5 days on my nails without any chipping. YAY.
