The Travel Beauty Guide | What To Pack.

*This Post contains PR Samples

This year I have quite a few trips planned. Next up will be a three-week adventure in India followed by a week-long trip to my favourite city ever, London. Even though these trips are generally pretty different, there are a few things I always keep in mind when packing my beauty bits for any kind of trip.

So in preparation for my holidays, I thought I would share with you my travel beauty guide.

Firstly, I always love to keep it quite minimal. I never have a lot of problems deciding on the products I really need. However, when it comes to lipsticks I really struggle. I just have so many faves, that I want to take them all. But who really needs 5 different nude lipsticks? That's why I always stick to the rule, that I can take a total of 3 lip products. One nude lipstick of some sort, one bright red in case I want to dress up and one lip balm. And to be honest I never felt like I was missing anything since I started following this rule.

The Makeup Bag

When it comes to packing your beauty bits, the right makeup bag is really essential. I use one by Notino. It has two compartments, the lower one I use for my brushes and the upper one for makeup products. This way my brushes stay protected and in shape. For skin and body care I use a larger clear bag. If you are on the hunt for a new travel beauty bag I suggest taking a look at what you actually pack first. Maybe even take everything out and then figure out your requirements for the right bag. (And please don't just go for the prettiest one... I am definitely guilty of that!).

The SPF

SPF products are something I not only use on holiday and I hope you do neither. But I obviously use more of it when I go away to a hot and sunny climate, like India. As I am quite fair and my skin burns easily I never use anything under factor 50. I personally like spray products, but please keep in mind that you still need to use enough product to actually achieve the full protecting potential. One large bottle per week seems to work quite well for me.

The Cream Products

I always tell everyone to go for cream or liquid products as much as you can. So many of my lovely (and expensive) powder products have been completely destroyed in my suitcase. Especially in hot climates, I anyway think that a cream product looks so much more natural. But if there are powder products that you really can't live without please pack them in your hand luggage and not your check-in bags.

The Mini Sizes

In order to keep my beauty bag as minimal as possible, I not only try to limit the number of products I take with me, but also their size. That's why I love all of the travel-sized products out there. However, I always try and keep the little tubs and just refill them with my full-size product. That way you avoid wasting too much plastic.

What are your go-to products that you think I should have in my travel beauty bag?

  19. I agree with you when it comes to liquid products over powder products. I went on holiday recently and a few of my products were ruined. As I said in your previous, I'm just starting out in the world of beauty and I'm learning about makeup as I go. I really enjoy a good natural look. I like to keep it minimal. Your lipstick rule is genius. Next time I'm on holidays, I will have to follow that rule. Thanks for recommending those makeup bags too. I'm in need of a good one. Since I'm just starting out, I didn't think I had use for one. I was definitely wrong. x
