What I think about my Fitbit Blaze.

For my birthday last year, my boyfriend got me the Fitbit Blaze. I have tried some other fitness trackers in the past but never really stuck to them. Mostly I got just bored of looking into the app.. so I thought maybe it will be different with this one, as it has a proper screen and is just a little more interactive. If you want to know if I still use it 6 months after my birthday and what I think about it, keep on reading.

Let's start why I even wanted a fitness tracker. Well, I think I am pretty good at eating healthy. Haha at least I have the knowledge and if I put my mind to it, it's relatively easy for me. But when it comes to working out, I struggle.. I really struggle. So I need something that motivates me, I need numbers, something visual. So I love seeing the burned calories, my step count and the number of days I have been working out. It just motivates me so much more. So, is this Fitbit Blaze worth the relatively high price?

I would say: YES. I am still wearing it every day since I got it in september last year. Of course, there have been a couple of days where I haven't worn it because I wanted to wear some other watch. But my normal watch collection definitely got neglected in the last six months.. and that really means something.

I still enjoy to track my sleep, control my (resting) heart rate and count my steps, but there is so much more to this tracker. I always feel like it is a hybrid of a smartwatch and a fitness tracker. Besides the usual fitness data, you can also get your smartphone notifications on your Blaze.. like Phonecalls, Messages, WhatsApp messages, Instagram notifications and the list goes on and on. Also, you have a timer function which of course you can use for working out, but I also love it for when I am cooking or do other things where I need to measure time. Another great feature is the ability to set silent alarms (vibrations). I personally use it to remind myself to post on Instagram.. haha. You can set different alarms for different days, it's amazing.

One thing that I love to use while working out is that I can change my music playing on my phone via my Fitbit. So no need to get my phone out while I am running.. love it.

Another positive I would say is the battery life. The battery lasts easily 4 days and that allows me to even wear it in the nights and also use the sleep tracking features.

Last but not least.. you can change the straps of the watch. Yes, you heard right.. this fitness tracker and smartwatch hybrid is not only practical, it is also fashionable. Mine came with a black silicone strap which I use for working out or to sleep. This beautiful rose gold one I got via amazon and this is what I use when I wear it outside in my daily life. So gorgeous..

  1. This is definitely the most fashionable fitbit I've seen to date, my whole family has fitbits (except for me) but theirs don't look nearly as fashionable as this one.

  7. I have a watch that counts my steps too - the FitBit. However this is a whole lot more classy and is gorgeous! I should wear mine more, but mine is just ugly haha. This is something to look into though, if I get back into swing with it <3

  8. OMG, I didn't know the Fitbit Blaze actually let messages and music go through it. I've been on the fence about getting one for about a year and can't decide on which one to get. Honestly the market is flooded with them. I don't actually walk much when I'm back at home (or not travelling) because you have to drive everywhere in LA (womp womp...), but I want to track my sleep and I go to the gym and do circuits and high rep weight conditioning, so most of them never track those properly. :( Definitely want to check it out anyways because of the other perks. Plus, it might actually track some of those workouts properly. :) Thanks for sharing!
